Ah, I've decided to friends-lock most of my journal. It's mostly Narutoverse fanart and fanfiction, mostly adult in nature, with occasional r/l posts. A lot of crack in my  journal, too.

After having my moving date pushed back several times, for once it got moved forward! So, I'm doing the final packing and cleaning now, and I'll be finishing tomorrow, or this weekend at the latest, and hitting the road!

I'm supah-busy, and I'll be returning the modem and packing up the computer tomorrow... and after that, I will more than likely not have internet for a few weeks :o What will I doooooo? I'll figure something out XD Visit my family and friends I haven't seen in years, maybe :D

So, I put a journal up on y!gallery last week asking what I could do to improve, and I got some very helpful responses. Two of the things that people suggested were - I should work on faces (including drawing them straight on) and I should try different styles. And so! Now I'm working on a straight-forward shot of Kakashi's face (I suppose that would be a bust, right?). My goal is semi-realism, with no lineart... and also, to make him look close to the way I see him in my head.

Well, it's proving to be very difficult, but fun ^__^ I'm sticking some WIP shots here, and I'll stick more in as I go. If you look at them and you feel like it, please don't hesitate to point out things that look strange, or offer pointers - I'm not at all used to doing this kind of art!

Ah! Teamwork is much fun. Posting an illustration from 'Worth It' - a collaboration between myself and the uber-awesome frackin_sweet : a true master of ninjaporn. It's a KakashixGenma one-shot. Go read it in her journal. And while you're there, I strongly suggest you check out her collection of excellent ninjafics. (My favorite is the 'Rescue' three-parter, with a bonus smut chappie. The imagery, the freakin sounds, just kill me.)

I have no sense of smell. I am anosmic, just like about 1.5% of the population. I have had this condition since I was twelve or thirteen.

I hallucinate. Olfactory hallucinations are interesting; suddenly I smell apples, or gasoline, or freshly cut grass, or spaghetti sauce. These are the four smells I remember clearly. I like the apple smell the best. Sometimes, after reading too many medical suspense novels, I fear I have a brain tumor, when the hallucinations come too close together. I know I don't, but - still.

And there's this other smell, one I can't name. I don't remember what it is, only that it's horrible. It's a stench, this reeking stink that won't leave me for hours sometimes. I want to squirt lemon juice into my nostrils in the hopes that it will get rid of it. But it doesn't - I tried it once. It stung like hell, but since the smell was all in my head, not specifically in my nose, it stayed.

I can taste spicy meaty things, and very salty things, and some chocolates, mostly dark ones. Everything else is so dull in flavor without the smell of the food (there are 6 distinct tastes, and 10,000 distinct smells) that it's just 'something crunchy' or 'something squishy' in my mouth.

And... I want to write about smells. I do, actually. I think I write about smells quite often, and I have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't remember what people smell like. I want to write about flavors, too. Maybe it's just another part of the whole fantasy thing... taking myself out of my normal life and creating a story in which there is sex, and/or drama, and/or tension... and things have smells and flavors.

So. Yes.

If anyone ever notices something completely wrong in my smell descriptions, please don't hesitate to let me know. I like to think I learn something new every day.
